Long/short ratio = longs ÷ shorts; above 1 means more are long. “Accounts” counts heads; each exchange picks its own “top” traders, and they pick differently · How we count →Collapse ↑

USDT-margined perpetuals only; “—” means the exchange does not list the coin. Long / short percentages are derived from the ratio (long = ratio ÷ (1 + ratio)). Per-coin charts sample one point per hour, and the 7-day low and high come from that same hourly series. A high ratio is not a bullish signal: every long contract has a short on the other side, so the ratio only tells you which side has more accounts (or more of the top traders' positions), not more money.

How Each Exchange Defines “Top” (Official Docs)

Exchange Who Counts as Top How the Ratio Is Calculated
Binance Top 20% of users by margin balance Top accounts = share of net-long accounts ÷ share of net-short accounts (each account counted once); top positions = share of long positions ÷ share of short positions
OKX Top 5% of traders by open position value Formula not published by the exchange
Gate.io Selection not published by the exchange Formula not published by the exchange
Bybit No top-trader type Accounts = share of users net long ÷ share of users net short (Bybit publishes the shares; this page converts them to a ratio)

Binance picks by margin balance, OKX by position value, and Gate.io does not say, so within one type the exchanges' ratios cannot be compared by size; read each one's own trend.

The Account Ratio Counts Heads, Not Size

In the account ratio, one contract and a thousand contracts are both one account, and top-position ratios only cover the traders each exchange defines as top. To see which way large holders' share of positions is moving, open Holder Concentration (a Blave indicator).
