Squeeze Momentum History
About This Metric
- Calculated on daily candles.
- Bollinger Bands use 20 days and 2 standard deviations; Keltner Channels use 20 days and 1.5× average true range. When the Bollinger Bands sit fully inside the Keltner Channel, that is a squeeze, marked on the zero line.
- The momentum value is the close minus the average of the 20-day high-low midpoint and the 20-day mean price, divided by the mean price to make it a ratio, then scaled to an annualized size.
- The original TradingView version (LazyBear) is in price units and adds linear-regression smoothing; Blave's values use a different scale, so the numbers can't be compared directly, though the sign agrees.
